Tools Needed: Screwdriver, Dust rag
Tools optional: Air Can

1. Unplug the Nintendo console and flip it over. Undo the six screws located in the corners and middle front and middle back of the console. (not the two silver ones you see that screw in the black controller piece) Be sure not to lose the screws!

2. Flip the console back over and remove the top. (lighter gray part with the lid) Remove any dust balls or any other debris that you see.

3. Notice the large silver covering inside the console. Remove the 7 screws holding the cover down. There are two on the left of the cover, two in the back of the cover, and three to the right of the cover. Then, remove the cover.

4. The toaster, the place where you slide the games into, will now be exposed. You will notice 6 screws, 4 in the back and 2 in the front. Go ahead and unscrew all of those.

5. You will now have to remove the final two screws located in the right rear on the console. They are attached to the metal piece. You can now lift up the motherboard (green part) and remove the toaster. The 72 pin connector will be fully exposed now.

6. Now you can remove the 72 pin connector. Slide it off, it will be tough, but working from side to the other works best. Be careful as you do not want to break anything. Now slide your new connector on. Once again it will be tough, but it will go on.

7. Take a rag and wipe down the toaster of any dust you may see. Now put the toaster back on and be sure all the screw holes line up. The toaster should be sitting flat on the mother board. If its not, it’s because there is a lip under the toaster that needs to be sitting under the mother board.

8. Once the toaster is in it’s correct place, screw in the two screws into the metal piece in the right corner of the console.

9. Than screw the toaster back on. The two longer screws you will have go into the two holes in the rear of the console. One goes into each side and into the hole closet to the front of the console.

10. Wipe down the metal cover and than put it back on. Make sure the screws line up and screw it into place. Attach the top and flip it over, than screw it back on.

11. Your finished. Plug in your games and play!
